diy bike workshop
Drosi Bikes' DIY workshop isn't any normal workshop. This is a space where you can come and use our tools and expertise to fix your own bike.
WEDNESDAY 8th SEPT
Come down on and take advantage of our fully equipped workshop with professional work stands and a comprehensive set of tools to help you tackle any problem. We also have wide range of new and used parts available to buy.
The workshop is coordinated by an experienced mechanic. There is a limit to the amount of help we can offer, particularly when we’re busy, so this workshop is better suited for those with some experience. There will be tea, coffee and sweet treats available for a donation.
Due to COVID-19 we are having to limit numbers which means that booking is required. Before you book there are a few things we'd like you to know:
There will be a coordinator and volunteers there to help and guide you but this is a DIY workshop, which means you are expected to work on your own bike, so please don't forget it!!
We are asking everyone to keep 2m apart as much as possible. On occasion, the coordinator and volunteers may need to come closer than 2m to help with your repair.
Everyone attending the workshop is required to wear a face covering and gloves, unless medical circumstances means you can’t (please inform us of this).
Finally, if you are displaying any coronavirus symptoms or have been asked to isolate, please don’t come to the workshop! Get in touch to let us know and we can rearrange your appointment.
If you agree to all this and would like to book on, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the workshop during our opening hours.
We run the DIY workshop on a donation basis. Suggested donations are:
up to 1 hour £5
2 hours £10
**No-one will be turned away due to lack of funds**
Bring your bike to fix or for a simple check over at one of our women specific evenings. This is a space where women share knowledge and skills in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. No experience necessary!
WEDNESDAY 13th OCTOBER
The Women's Nights will be run in a similar way to the DIY workshop with an experienced bike mechanic on hand to help out. We're also inviting volunteers to come along to share their knowledge and help others keep their bikes on the road.
To book your slot please email email@example.com or pop into the workshop during our opening hours.
Women’s+ night is a friendly and inclusive evening, however we understand new environments and new groups of people can feel intimidating. If you are coming along for the first time and feel nervous, get in touch and we would be happy to meet up before hand to help you get settled in, make some hot drinks and have a chat.
By coming along to any Drosi Bikes workshops you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.
Wondering what the '+' stands for? Drosi Bikes wants to make it clear that it's Women's nights include women of colour, trans women, femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer and non-binary folks and any other women who may feel discriminated against in some areas of feminism.
